SEAS Detroit Sustainability Clinic Initiatives
In 2025, the SEAS Detroit Sustainability Clinic is launching two exciting new initiatives. The first, Sustainability Assist, is a rolling technical assistance program that provides community-based organizations in metro Detroit with up to 100 hours of subject matter expertise from the U-M SEAS Detroit Sustainability Clinic faculty, staff and students. The second, the Urban Sustainability & Justice Faculty and Community Fellows program, invites an academic scholar from an external college or university and a local community leader to collaborate on community-based climate solutions in Ann Arbor and Detroit.
As with all of our Clinic projects, these initiatives also align with at least one of the Clinic’s five Capacity and Technical Assistance Pillars - Environmental, Energy and Water Justice; Housing and Neighborhoods; Sustainability and Climate Action Planning; Green Infrastructure and Watershed Management; and the Circular Economy.
For details about Sustainability Assist and the Urban Sustainability & Justice Faculty and Community Fellows programs, read more below.

Urban Sustainability & Justice Faculty and Community Fellows
The Urban Sustainability & Justice Community and Faculty Fellows will spend a portion of the winter 2025 semester in residence in Ann Arbor, working to advance equitable and just climate solutions.
