The MDPI Sustainability Foundation has announced the recipients of the 2023 World Sustainability Award. Second place was awarded to Thomas P. Lyon, Dow Professor of Sustainable Science, Technology and Commerce and Faculty Director of the Erb Institute at the University of Michigan. Lyon was awarded $30,000 for his commitment to advancing sustainability.
The nominees’ research was evaluated on several criteria, including its uniqueness, innovation, and impact on the three pillars of sustainability.
One of MDPI Sustainability Foundation's main purposes is to promote scientific dialogue and the exchange of information among interested organizations. As part of this effort, it has initiated the World Sustainability Forum (WSF), an international conference where the World Sustainability Award is presented, as well as its smaller counterpart—the local Sustainability Forum.
