The International Conference on Soils, Sediments, Water and Energy has announced that Rosina Bierbaum is this year's recipient of the Association for Environmental Health and Sciences Foundation Achievement Award. The award, which will be presented in October, is bestowed each year to individuals or organizations who have shown significant contributions to the field as well as outstanding environmental stewardship. Bierbaum is a professor and dean emerita at the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability. She focuses her research on the interface of science and policy—principally on issues related to climate change adaptation and mitigation at the national and international levels.
