Dow Sustainability Master's Fellowship
Each year, Dow Sustainability Master’s Fellows are selected from a pool of candidates nominated by schools throughout the university. Each fellow participates in collaborative engagement activities and a substantial interdisciplinary team.

Rackham Outstanding GSI Award
The Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor Awards recognize the efforts and accomplishments of GSIs who demonstrate extraordinary dedication and excellence as teachers. Faculty members are encouraged to nominate graduate students who display the highest levels of commitment, creativity and skill in the classroom.

BEHAVIOR, EDUCATION, AND COMMUNICATION AWARDS
The William B. Stapp Award for Excellence
This award, established in 1993 by the BEC faculty, honors the lifetime of work and leadership Professor William (Bill) Stapp gave to environmental education. Recipients are recognized for their outstanding leadership and excellence in the study of environmental education.

ECOSYSTEM SCIENCE MANAGEMENT & GEOSPATIAL DATA SCIENCE AWARDS
Howard M. Wight Memorial Award
Established in 1943 from a fund set up by alumni of the school, this award honors the memory of Professor Howard M. Wight, who taught in the field of wildlife. It is given to a student in the management of wildlife and natural areas who possesses high scholarship and prospects of accomplishment in this field.

The Karl F. Lagler Award
The Karl Lagler Award is awarded to the outstanding scholar in aquatic sciences based on achievement and research promise.

The Andrea Lynn Kline Environmental Stewardship Scholarship
The Andrea Lynn Kline Environmental Stewardship Scholarship Fund, endowed in 2020 by Paul S. Evanoff, provides student support each year for graduate students, including PhD students, at the School for Environment and Sustainability who are studying landscape architecture and/or environmental resource management and restoration. This fellowship was established in memory of Andrea L. Kline, (SEAS Class of 1985) who devoted her life to land conservation, habitat restoration, landscape design, and other environmental endeavors.

The Professor Ernest A.H. Woodman Award
This award is presented to a SEAS student with a major in forestry, wildlife, or a related resource-based management area. The student will have demonstrated an interest and ability in administration of natural resources and shown leadership in student activities centered in the School.

ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE AWARDS
Bunyan Bryant Scholarship Award for Environmental Justice
Established in honor of Professor Bunyan Bryant, this scholarship is given to a student in the Environmental Justice program. The recipient is someone who makes positive contributions to the environmental justice community at U-M and beyond.

Environmental Justice Award for Outstanding Scholarship
Established in 2006, this award is given to students studying in the field of environmental justice who have done outstanding work in the classroom, on research projects, practica, theses, or dissertations.

The Ayers-Brinser Award
Established in 1977, this award is given to a doctoral student who has shown particular excellence in the study of natural resource policy and management. The award recognizes academic achievement and professional promise.

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE AWARDS
Fred and Helen Arbuckle Scholarship in Landscape Architecture
Established in 2005 by Fred (MLA '78) and Helen Arbuckle in appreciation of the SEAS education Fred received and the career start his U-M degree gave him.

Alice and Jessie Bourquin Memorial Scholarship
Established in 1995 to honor the memory of Alice and Jessie Bourquin, who loved to travel and were among the first female landscape architecture practitioners. Awarded to the student who proposes the most innovative and creative research or project for summer travel and best exemplifies the pioneering spirit of the Bourquin sisters.

Terry J. and Janice Brown Award
This award was established in May 2006 by friends, colleagues, and former students of Professor Terry J. Brown in honor of his service to the school and its students, and for contributions to the field.

William and Mabel Jackson Award
Established in 1997 by Pat Jackson and Carol Sullivan in honor of Pat's parents, William and Mabel Jackson. The award supports Landscape Architecture students, their projects, and related travel.

Established in 1989, the William J. Johnson Prize is awarded to a student who proposes an innovative and exciting project that captures the essence of Johnson's design philosophy.

Established in 1967 by alumni and friends of the Landscape Architecture program, this award recognizes students with the greatest potential for original and imaginative work.

Established in 1967 by the Landscape Architecture faculty, this award is presented to the student demonstrating the greatest potential to perform comprehensive professional work. The award is symbolic of dedication to high standards of quality and service.

Paul L. Strauch "Spirit of the Studio" Award
Established in 2004 by the friends and family of Paul Strauch, the award is given to the second-year MLA student who embodies the upbeat and generous "Spirit of the Studio." The recipient is chosen by the students in the second-year MLA class. Strauch was the Spirit of the Studio winner in the Landscape Architecture class of 1994.

SUSTAINABLE SYSTEMS AWARDS
The 3M Award for Outstanding Achievement in Industrial Ecology
This award was established in 1999 to honor the memory of Thomas W. Zosel, Manager of Environmental Initiatives for 3M Corporation. Mr. Zosel was instrumental in launching the Center for Sustainable Systems at the University of Michigan. 3M, through its employees at all levels, has recognized the critical importance of collaborating with multiple and diverse stakeholders in order to achieve systems that meet human needs in a more sustainable manner.

UNDERGRADUATE HONORS
The Carey A. and Jeannine Boukai Memorial Scholarship
Established in 1976, this award is made annually to a female student in SEAS who demonstrates interest in the maintenance of environmental quality and who has the most outstanding academic record after three semesters of full-time enrollment in the University of Michigan.

The Stanton Scholarship was founded in 2008 from the estate of Anna Louise Stanton (LSA '45) to support undergraduate students who intend to have a career promoting the use of natural resources on a sustainable basis.

The Courtney R. Wilson Award
This award is given in memory of Courtney Wilson, an SEAS alumna, MS graduate and PhD student, who was a dedicated member and ambassador of the SEAS community, inspiring others through her contagious smile and eagerness to learn. The award is given to the member of the first year doctoral student cohort who best exemplifies Courtney's keen intellect, kind compassion, and deep commitment to addressing critical environmental issues.

This award recognizes a student whose research examines innovative means to adapt to and/or mitigate the effects of climate change.

Alumni War Memorial Award
Established in 1948 by the Michigan Natural Resources Society, this award honors University of Michigan foresters who lost their lives in service of their country. The award is given to a student who demonstrates outstanding performance in scholarship, leadership, and personal qualifications.

The Tamara L. Reeme Scholarship is awarded to exceptional students with a demonstrated commitment to course and field work, who exemplify characteristics needed to address current environmental issues.

DEI Champion Award
Each year the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Champion Award recognizes a student who serves as a fierce advocate and ally for DEI within our SEAS community. This award recognizes individuals who are actively striving to weave DEI into the fabric of SEAS to enhance the success of students in their endeavors during their time at SEAS and beyond.

Glancy Climate Innovation Award
This award is given annually to a student conducting innovative mitigation or abrupt climate change research.

The Karl Kidder Award
This fund was established by Jeanette Kidder, in 1971, in memory of her late husband, Karl Kidder. This award is made to a Michigan-born student who shows academic and professional promise.

The Samuel Trask Dana Award
This award, in recognition of Samuel Trask Dana’s outstanding contributions in the field of resource management and conservation, is awarded annually to the graduate student in the School for Environment and Sustainability judged most outstanding on the basis of scholarship and service.

Jonathan Bulkley Water Prize
Established in honor of Professor Jonathan Bulkley, this award recognizes outstanding students who are developing innovative solutions for managing water resources on a more sustainable basis. These solutions can come from students in a variety of fields within the school and those across the university, including engineering, policy, planning, ecology, and public health.

The Jeffrey Lund Forest Ecology Award
Established in 1973 by Mr. and Mrs. Alan Lund, in memory of Jeffrey Lund, a graduate student in forest ecology, this award is given to the outstanding forest or plant ecology Ph.D. student who demonstrates academic excellence, research capability, and professional promise.

This award honors the memory of William D. Drake (professor in SEAS) and is given to students in the School for Environment and Sustainability or the undergraduate Program in the Environment who are affiliated in some way with the University of Michigan’s Nichols Arboretum. Each prize is intended to recognize and honor work done by a student that links studies in SEAS/PitE with Nichols Arboretum.

The Nanette R. Lacross Prize
This award honors the memory of Nanette R.
