Mallika Kothari
I am an environmental engineer interested in the intersection of energy engineering, policy, and social science. My previous work focused on early residential photovoltaic (PV) retirement and silicon PV material usage over time. I also conducted ASHRAE Level 2 energy audits on small and medium-sized commercial and manufacturing facilities in Michigan through the Michigan State Industrial Assessment Center (IAC). I currently research resilience strategies for a low-income neighborhood to become net zero. My work utilizes methods from both engineering and social science to understand community needs and to design renewable energy systems and household-level interventions to meet community needs.
