This project will support sustainable urban tree planting projects by establishing a database of tree species that are pre-adapted to survive and thrive under projected future climate conditions. The principal outcome of this research will be an index of tree species and their associated potential survivability across global climate classifications. The index will also include key information related to each species’ associated environmental performance values and heat-adapted characteristics with a focus on environmental systems services in urban environments.
