Master of Landscape Architecture students Yanling Mo and Zhelin Li received top honors in the Radical Urban Intervention international design competition hosted by ArcDeck.net.

Mo placed in the top three (professional category) for the entry, "Envisioning the Future Queen City: A Green-Blue Loop to Address Ecological, Social, and Economic Inequity," which focused on reimagining the First Ward neighborhood of Buffalo, New York. Li placed in the top 10 (professional category) for the entry, "Cleveland Sanctuary," which focused on revitalizing one of Ohio's major cities.

Entrants, who hailed from more than 75 countries, were asked to select a city and suggest a design intervention that "could radically improve its sense of place and quality of life for residents + visitors."

The submissions, according to the ArcDeck website, "varied from radical designs for cultural to social to environmental interventions within cities around the world—which was exactly what we sought while launching this competition."
