Roger Anderson recently retired as a Principal Advisor with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Seattle, Washington, which is managed by Battelle Memorial Institute.  His early technical assignments in natural resources planning and assessment provided the basis for later management roles in in environment, energy, national security and public health.  He focused his career in research and development, and his experience is primarily international in scope, having completed projects in Venezuela, Guyana, Ukraine, Australia, the Republic of Georgia, and a five-year resident assignment as Director of Strategic Business Development for the National Nuclear Laboratory in the UK.

Anderson’s emphasis over the past two decades was placed on international science and technology capacity building, and the sustainment of new and existing S&T institutions. Anderson was successful with a variety of business and institutional models, cultures, and economic and technical challenges, including extensive negotiations and management interactions with host country partners and other officials.

He holds a BS in Natural Resources (Forestry) from the University of Michigan and an MS in Forest Ecology / Remote Sensing from the University of Illinois.
